FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WHAT IS A STREET TEAM?
A street team is a collection of volunteers from the fanbase who want to help promote Skyler, his music and his live shows. To thank them for their work, they are offered a range of rewards at various times during the year - see PRIZES. A street team exists to help introduce Skyler to as many potential fans as possible, and to continue to build name recognition by encouraging people to visit his website, message board, go see him at a live show, and/or buy his music.

WHERE DO I SIGN UP?
There is no registration. We provide a list of various missions for you to do and if you want to earn points, then it is suggested that you submit reports to gain them. If you want to be alerted for news, tour dates, updates, and maybe special missions and contests on occasions,  please sign up for his MAILING LIST.

DOES IT COST ANYTHING TO BE ON THE STREET TEAM?
Nope. It's free. All is needed is a moment of your time to promote Skyler!

WHAT ARE ONLINE MISSIONS?
These are examples of missions you can do online!
- Contact (via email, phone, etc.) local, national, and/or online radio stations to play his music.
- Reach out to local newspapers, TV Shows, blogs, and magazines and ask them if they could do an article/music review on Skyler. This often works best if more than one person calls/emails the press about the same subject.
- Contact national music magazines, online fan magazines, morning shows, late night shows, talk shows, etc. to interview him.
- Add Skyler to your top friends, add his songs to your social-network's playlist, write an album review on itunes/amazon, etc.
- Share his music video/banners on your myspace, facebook, twitter, livejournal, blogs, communities, message boards, and any other website that's relevant.
- Post your concert videos or photos up and share them with everyone!
- Create fan newsletters, unofficial fan clubs, fan sites, yahoo groups, etc.
- Design banners/flyers for fans to post up!
- Post on message boards and/or chat rooms about Skyler and include his website URL - www.skylertunes.com - for easy access to those who are interested. You can visit music-related message boards especially artists’ forums he previously tour with (i.e. Ryan Cabrera, Kicking Daisies, He Is We, etc.).
*Don't spam message boards and forums devoted to general music topics or other artists. Although fans of other music might appreciate some information about what Skyler is up to, be sensitive and don't blitz them with unwanted advertising. For example, if there is already one thread about Skyler on a message board, add to it. Don't start another one unless it is about something totally different.

WHAT ARE OFFLINE MISSIONS?
Here’s a list of places that are great for handing out stickers or hanging up posters:
- Venues (After shows, concerts, outside clubs, arenas);
- Colleges (Bookstores, Dormitories, Student Union Buildings, Radio & TV Stations, Cafeterias, Lounges, Clubs, etc.);
- High Schools (Homeroom, Cafeteria, Bulletin Boards, Lockers, etc.);
- Independent Shops (Record Stores, Clothing Stores, Coffee shops, Cafes, Pizzerias, Guitar Centers, Skate Shops, Surf Shops)
- Arcades, Amusements Parks, Camps, Boardwalks, Malls, Movie theaters, Street Fairs, Fundraisers, Outdoors events, Festivals, Message Boards, etc.
Since you know your hometown better than anyone else, then you know where to give materials away at places where people just like yourself hang out!
**Do get permission before posting or leaving flyers in a public place. Without permission, a store owner will just throw away your promo materials and that's just a waste. Bring your own sticky tape or stapler with you and don't obscure other up-to-date notices or flyers. Try to open up communication channels with store employees so that they are more informed about and sympathetic to your teaming efforts. This creates a good relationship and reflects positively on the team.
***Don't damage property or do anything illegal. In most parts of the world it is illegal to attach stuff to things like lampposts, commercial hoardings, bus stops and other public properties. That's flyposting and it's a big no-no. Don't waste your time or your printer ink on street teaming activities that aren't going to do any good and could possibly end up getting you - and the street team - into serious trouble!

These are additional examples of missions you can do offline!
- Tell all of your friends, coworkers, and relatives about the Skyler, his album, his shows, his website, etc.
- Call and/or go into your local record stores and ask for Skyler’s CDs. With enough demand, retailers will carry them. Have your family, friends and coworkers call, too!
- Buy the Skyler's CDs for friends and family. They make great gifts!
- Bring friends and family to Skyler’s shows when he is in your area! Also, hand out flyers for upcoming shows in your area or close to your area!
- Wear your Skyler shirts proudly!

WHAT DO I DO AFTER I HAVE PROMOTED?
As a promoter, you’ve got to tell us what you’re doing to promote Skyler! Do remember to get evidence (take pictures, screenshots, videos, etc.) of your activities and report them so that you can receive points, which count towards prizes. Tell us what you’ve done, where you’ve done it, whom you’ve met, and what they thought. You can keep emails, take screenshots, note down URLs or take photos of special activities. While this isn't mandatory, we do really appreciate it! We love to show all of you what you're all doing for Skyler!

HOW DO YOU TAKE A SCREENSHOT?
In Windows
1. Press the "Print Screen" button.
2. Open Microsoft Paint. To do this, click Start > All Programs > Accessories > Paint.
3. Click inside the white part of the screen.
4. Go to the Edit menu and select Paste.
5. Click File > Save As.
6. In the box that pops up, change the "Save As" type to JPG.
7. After typing in a filename for your image, choose a location on your hard drive to save to, like the Desktop, and click "Save."

In Mac
1. Simultaneously hold down the ?-Shift-4 keys.
2. Press the spacebar.
3. Click the open window that you wish to take a screen shot of. The screen shot should appear as a file on the desktop labeled "Picture 1."

I HAVE A QUESTION OR AN IDEA? WHO DO I EMAIL?
We love creative teaming and the more original your idea is, the more points you stand to earn - as long as if it something that is possible for others to do! You can email streetteam@skylertunes.com with any questions.

AND REMEMBER, HAVE FUN WHILE SUPPORTING SKYLER AND HELPING HIM SPREAD THE WORD! Ultimately the goal of a street teamer is to create an awareness of their favorite artists, but it's also about having fun doing so. Of course the rewards are nice, but working for them shouldn't be a chore for you. If you're not enjoying doing this, you're doing something wrong!
