Skyler was hand-picked to be a part of this year’s Act Out Loud: Raising Voices for Safe Teen Driving (AOL). This contest was created by The Allstate Foundation and National Organizations for Youth Safety (NOYS) to promote and honor of National Youth Traffic Safety Month (NYTSM) in May 2012. AOL is a national teen-led and school-based activism competition to encourage youth to lead campaigns raising awareness around the importance of stronger teen driving laws at a state and national level. The grand prize winner will be awarded $10,000 and a private concert from Skyler. Channel One, the leading television news network for teens, will promote the contest on its award winning daily broadcast and tape a broadcast at the winning school, which will be seen by an audience of nearly six million young people in middle schools and high schools across the country. Music Connection listed Skyler as one of the Top 25 New Music Critiques of 2011! He scored an 8.6 and made it to the end of the year's list! Check it out! "Markathon" has been a successful on air benefit carried out by Mark Curdo, a disc jockey for Portland, Maine's 94.3 WCYY. The idea, simple and fun: listeners can request anything they want, anything (in compliance with FCC guidelines of course) and Mark will play it for a donation to the Center for Grieving Children.
