A local Vermonter is now part of a band called Skyler.  The group is on tour and set to play at higher ground this Sunday January 9th. 

Band members Skyler of York, Maine, and local John Mullet of Worcester join The :30 to talk about their music and their recent tour of middle schools and high schools. The band recently won a contest competing against 3000 bands nationally.  Skyler is playing at Higher Ground this Sunday, Jan. 9.

Skyler, a young musican from York who's been performing publically since the third grade, visits the "Good Day Maine" studio this morning to introduce his band, talk about his music and upcoming shows, and serve up a live performance of the song, "Hold My Hand," which is off the band's new EP, Long Gone.

Skyler will be performing at the Stratham New Hampshire Fair Thursday July 22.

Skyler is an 18-year-old student at Berklee College of Music in Boston.  He plays guitar, drums, bass and keyboard.
